The project brief
When the prestigious Russian spa brand Mahash decided to launch its first salon in Spain, it needed a design partner that could translate its reputation for luxury and sophistication into a physical space. Situated in the elegant Eixample district of Barcelona, next to the iconic Passeig de Gràcia, the new nail and beauty bar needed to be more than just a salon. It required an environment that would attract and captivate a cosmopolitan clientele, offering a unique and "sensual" user experience.
Our design approach: A sensual journey
Reis Design developed a concept that balances Mahash's high-end aesthetics with the tranquil, sun-drenched spirit of Barcelona. Our strategy focused on creating a seamless journey for the client—from the moment they step off the bustling city street to the moment they leave feeling completely renewed.
- A palette of natural tranquility: We selected a material palette of natural, earthy hues and textures to create a serene and peaceful environment. This included warm wood finishes, soft-toned marble, and lush greenery, providing a calming retreat from the urban energy outside.
- Distinct energy zones: The layout was intentionally designed to guide the client through different "energy zones." The reception area greets visitors with a bright, welcoming ambiance, while the treatment areas feature a more intimate and subdued lighting scheme. This clear delineation ensures a tranquil experience, no matter the service.
- Subtle elegance: The joinery and furniture were designed with clean lines and bespoke details, reflecting Mahash's minimalist, yet luxurious brand identity. This focus on premium, tailored solutions ensures every element of the salon feels considered and exclusive.
